Nathalie Bissig, born 1981, lives and works in Uri, Zürich and Ticino.
Since her diploma 2004 in photography at the School of Arts and Design Zürich, she has been working as a photographer and artist.
Aside from her familiar surroundings of both sides of the Gotthard, Bissig has travelled in many countries of the world, manly in Africa and Asia, for photographic research and reporting. In her artistic work, she employs various media, including drawing, photography, and object art.
Her themes touch on landscape and the human figure and articulate in subtle ways the often interdependent relationship between one and the other. Since 2012 masks have been a central theme in her work.
